In over ten years he went through all youth selections and in 2005 was first placed in the squad of the Rapid Vienna amateur team , with whom he rose from the Vienna City League to the third-class Regionalliga Ost . With the amateurs he made 20 championship appearances in the Regionalliga until 2007. In the summer before the 2007-08 season Schrammel was the second-rate in the Austrian first division playing FC Lustenau 07 awarded.

He made his professional debut for the club from Lustenau in Vorarlberg on July 31, 2007 in the 2-1 away defeat against Kapfenberger SV , when he was on the field for the entire duration of the game. With the Lustenauers he became a regular player this season and was used in 30 of 33 league games.

After the season in Vorarlberg, Schrammel was awarded one more time by his parent club. This time it went to FC Wacker Innsbruck in the Tyrolean capital. At the club he came to a total of 22 appearances in the first league, as well as a use in the ÖFB Cup 2008/09 , which one had to leave after a 1-0 away defeat in the first round against SC-ESV Parndorf . From mid-March to mid-May 2009 he left the game due to an injury to the ligamentum deltoideum , the inner ligament of the left knee, and so missed some missions. He got the injury in the 1-0 win over 1. FC Vöcklabruck . In the same week Schrammel was operated on in a private clinic in Hoch-Rum .

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he returned to his home club, SK Rapid Wien, and was immediately included in the Bundesliga team. In the same summer Rapid Vienna awarded him for the coming season with an option for two more years to the Bundesliga club SV Ried .

He made his club debut at SV Ried in the first round of the ÖFB Cup in 2009/10 in a 3-0 win over FC Wels , when he was on the pitch from the start and in the 71st minute of play for Mihael Rajić was replaced. Schrammel made his Bundesliga debut on August 21, 2009 in a 0-0 away draw against SK Austria Kärnten , when he played until the 80th minute and was again replaced by Rajic as a substitute. At the end of the 2009/10 season , after the loan contract expired, Ried withdrew the option and signed the defender for 2 years. In the 2010/11 season he was Austrian Cup winner with SV Ried. In June 2011 Schrammel returned to his home club again. He signed a four-year contract with the Hütteldorfern, and it was agreed not to disclose the transfer fee. In August 2014 the contract was extended for a further 4 years.

In January 2018 he switched to league competitor SK Sturm Graz , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2019. After the 2019/20 season, he left Sturm.
