Tiefenried is one of the four districts of the Kirchheim market in Swabia in the Swabian district of Unterallgäu in Bavaria .
geography
Tiefenried is about 35 km southwest of Augsburg , 81 km west of Munich and 37 km northeast of Memmingen in the Danube-Iller region in Central Swabia .
geology
The Kleine Flossach , a tributary of the Hasel , flows past Tiefenried just to the west. To the east of Tiefenried is the Augsburg-Westliche-Wälder nature park on the Iller-Lech-Platte , while Tiefenried is down in the Mindeltal .
Transport links
Tiefenried is on State Road 2025 , which takes you to Balzhausen in the north and Derndorf in the south . To the west a road leads to Mindelzell and Ursberg and to the east you reach Haselbach .
history
In 1362 Tiefenried was first mentioned in a document as a property of the Ursberg Monastery . In 1465 Ludwig von Knöringen bought Tiefenried and in 1480 sold it to twelve local farmers. In 1492 Tiefenried had 12 real estates and came into the possession of the Edelstetten women's monastery. In 1583 Tiefenried was sold to Marquard von Stein zu Jettingen and Mattsies . After the unsuccessful attempt to dry up nearby Mindelried, however, he went bankrupt because he could not repay the 51,000 guilders loaned by the Fuggers for the project . As a result, Hans Fugger bought the place in 1589 to supplement his neighboring rule Kirchheim .
In 1775, however, Tiefenried came back to the Ursberg monastery. In 1852 the village consisted of 27 properties and became an independent municipality in 1818. In 1978, Tiefenried was incorporated into the Kirchheim district in the Unterallgäu district as part of the regional reform of the district of Krumbach (Swabia) .

There is a photovoltaic park in the south of the village . The carpentry and drywall construction company Schreiner & Klempner Josef Schiegg is also available.
