Eppishausen is a municipality in the Swabian district of Unterallgäu and a member of the Kirchheim administrative community in Swabia . The place forms the exact geographical center of Bavarian Swabia .

Eppishausen is located in the Donau-Iller region , about 40 kilometers east of Memmingen . A memorial stone has been commemorating the special location in the exact geographic center of Swabia since 2014.

history
Until the church is planted
Eppishausen belonged to the Counts Fugger-Kirchheim . With the Rheinbund act 1806 the place came to Bavaria. This line of Fugger volunteers submitted to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806 . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
Incorporations
On April 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Könghausen was incorporated. On May 1, 1978 Haselbach and Mörgen were added.

Susanne Nieberle (Mayor of Mörgen / Community of Eppishausen) has been the mayor since May 1, 2020; it was elected on March 15, 2020 with 88.28% of the vote.
Her predecessor from May 2008 to April 2020 was Josef Kerler (* 1950) (joint applicant of the four groups of voters).

The coat of arms was approved on July 9, 1951 by decision of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior.
Blazon : "In black, three (2: 1) set silver buckets with golden hoops."
The place, first mentioned in a document in the 12th century, was owned by the Lords of Tanneck from 1470 to 1540 after frequent changes of ownership. Eppishausen received its first funding during this time, so that the community decided to take over the family coat of arms of the former landlords of Tanneck.

In 1998 there were 19 employees in the field of agriculture and forestry, 261 in the manufacturing sector and four in the field of trade and transport.
