Tilo Braune (* 11. August 1954 in Rochlitz ) is a German politician of the SPD , Secretary of State a. D. and functionary.

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1973 and the subsequent military service in the National People's Army of the GDR , Tilo Braune studied human medicine at the University of Greifswald from 1976 to 1984 . He completed his training as a specialist in neurology and psychiatry / psychotherapy in 1989. During his studies he was one of the founders of Eldenaer Jazz Evenings , for whose program he was responsible for many years and was honored with the European Regio Jazz Prize in 2010 for his services .

Braune is treasurer, managing director and board member of the Peter Krämer Foundation. Since November 2007 he has also been the managing director of the Hamburg Society for the Promotion of Democracy and International Law, founded by the Hamburg shipowner Peter Krämer († 2017)

Further offices and memberships

Since June 22nd, 2009 chairman of the sponsoring association for the promotion of health tourism, med in Germany e. V. (Bad Wörishofen). Political career

Tilo Braune joined the SPD (then SDP) at the time of the fall of the Wall in November 1989. From 1990 to 1993 he was a member of the SPD state executive in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . From June 1991 to October 1994 he was a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and from November 10, 1994 to October 26, 1998 (one electoral period) a member of the German Bundestag . He was elected from the state list of the SPD in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. From 1998 to 2002, under Harald Ringstorff , Braune was State Secretary and authorized representative of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at the federal government. From 2002 to 2005 he was State Secretary under Manfred Stolpe in the Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Housing and was responsible for the areas of building, housing and construction in the East.
