Tjipekapora Herunga (born January 1, 1988 in Ehangono or Ehungiro , South West Africa ) is a Namibian sprinter .

Athletic career

Tjipekapora Herunga gained her first experience at international championships in 2005 at the youth world championships in Marrakech , where she was eliminated in the 800-meter run with 2: 19.93 minutes in the first round. Two years later she took part in the Africa Games in Algiers for the first time , where she finished seventh in the 400-meter run in 53.13 s. In 2008 she reached the African Championships in Addis Ababa over 400 meters to the semifinals, in which she was eliminated with 54.00 s. Two years later she took part in the World Indoor Championships in Doha and was eliminated there with 55.40 s in the first round, as well as at the African Championships in Nairobi with 57.03 s. In 2011 she again took part in the Africa Games in Maputo , where she won the bronze medal in the 200-meter run in 23.50 seconds behind Nigerian Oludamola Osayomi and Vida Anim from Ghana. She also won the bronze medal over 400 meters with a new national record of 51.84 seconds behind Amantle Montsho from Botswana and Amy Mbacké Thiam from Senegal. Shortly before, she retired from the World Championships in Daegu over 400 meters with 54.08 s in the first round. In 2012 she reached sixth place over 200 meters at the African Championships in Porto-Novo in 23.92 s, while she was disqualified over 400 meters in the run and then took part in the Olympic Games in London over 400 meters and was eliminated there with 52, 53 s in the semifinals .

In 2013 she took part in the World Championships in Moscow over 400 meters and was eliminated there with 52.28 s in the semifinals. At the IAAF World Relays 2015 in the Bahamas , she finished sixth in the B-final with the Namibian 4-by-400-meter relay in 3: 40.21 minutes and won again at the African Games in Brazzaville in 51.55 seconds the bronze medal behind the Zambian Kabange Mupopo and Patience Okon George from Nigeria. In addition, she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters, in which she was eliminated with 23.81 s. In addition, she finished fourth in the Namibian 4 x 100 meter relay in 45.55 s.

In 2013 and 2019 Mayova was Namibian champion in the 400 meter run and in 2019 also over 200 meters.
