Thomas Jack "Tom" King , AOM (born February 8, 1973 in Melbourne ) is a former Australian sailor .
successes
Tom King took part in the Olympics twice in the 470 dinghy . In 1996 he did not get past 23rd place with Owen McMahon in Atlanta . Four years later he competed with Mark Turnbull and took first place in front of the US and the Argentine boat. They became Olympic champions with a total of 38 points . In the same year King and Turnbull won the world championship at Lake Balaton .
For his Olympic success he received the Australia Order Medal in 2001 .
