Kevin Lobdell Burnham (born December 21, 1956 in New York City - November 27, 2020 ) was an American sailor .

successes

Kevin Burnham took part in the Olympics three times in the 470 dinghy . With Morgan Reeser he immediately won the silver medal on his Olympic debut in Barcelona in 1992 , when they were second with 66.7 points, just ahead of Tõnu and Toomas Tõniste with 68.7 points and behind the Spaniards Jordi Calafat and Francisco Sánchez . In 1996 in Atlanta , Burnham and Reeser finished eighth. At the 2004 Olympics he went with Paul Foersterat the start. With 71 points, they held their own against the British Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield and became Olympic champions . He was a versatile sailor who also took part in numerous offshore regattas , such as the Sydney-Hobart regatta .

He died on November 27, 2020 of complications from a lung disease .
