Torsten Hanusch (* 4. October 1967 in White Water ) is a German ice hockey defenseman , who has been active since the end of his active career as a coach and manager. At his home club ES Weißwasser he was employed as a junior coach and interim coach for the professional team from the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey . His son Steve is also a hockey player.

Career

Hanusch began his career as an ice hockey player with the youth teams of Dynamo Weißwasser , for which he was active for many years. After the incorporation of the GDR ice hockey league into what was then the highest German ice hockey league in 1990, he played at the club, which was initially renamed PEV Weißwasser, until 1992 , when the club, which was renamed ESW, was revoked. In addition to several seasons in the second German league, Hanusch also played two seasons at the EC in Hanover . When they were relegated to the then second highest ice hockey league, he returned to Weißwasser. He ended his active career as a player after his only season in the then third-class 2003/04 , at the end of which the Lausitzer Füchse from Weißwasser returned to the second division.

With 590 games, Hanusch is in second place among the players who had the most appearances for the Lausitzer Füchse, in terms of penalty minutes he is even in first place by a long way, but he is also among the top 5 among the best scorers in the Lausitz region. After his playing career, Hanusch was hired as a junior coach at the parent club ES Weißwasser and is still employed there today.
