Train Sim World is a railway simulation for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 British developer Dovetail Games, the base game Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul on March 16, 2017 Steam was released. The game uses the Unreal Engine . The successor is Train Sim World 2 , which was released on August 20, 2020.

Gameplay

The simulator differs from previous train simulations in that it allows you to move freely through the game world from the first person perspective. There are four different game modes:

  • Tutorials: Introduction to the operation of the trains and the game controls.
  • Scenarios: Tasks in which certain predetermined railway operations must be mastered.
  • Timetable mode: 24-hour simulation, in which you can take control of the trains and move around freely.
  • Travel: tutorials, scenarios and the timetable mode clearly listed. There are also small tasks.

Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul

The base game includes the Sand Patch Grade , a railway line through the Allegheny Mountains in the USA . On this route the player can simulate heavy goods traffic with the diesel locomotives EMD GP38-2 , EMD SD40-2 and GE AC4400CW .

In an add-on published on November 29, 2017, the EMD GP40-2 is added.

The installation of this base game is mandatory in order to use the other games.

Train Sim World: Great Western Express

Train Sim World: Great Western Express (released September 14, 2017) includes the Great Western Main Line in Great Britain on the section from Paddington Station to Reading . The passenger traffic is with the BR Class 43 (the world's fastest diesel locomotive) and the BR Class 166 ; freight traffic is handled with the BR Class 66 .

Train Sim World: Rapid Transit
