Triglaw Bridge

The Triglawbrücke is a 50 meter long road bridge in iron - half-timbered construction in Berlin-Rahnsdorf , district Hessenwinkel. It leads over the Spree - which is also called Müggelspree in this section - to a small island that is enclosed by the Spree in the north, the Dämeritzsee in the east and the Old Spreearm in the west and south. This spree arm was created as a result of a new breakthrough at the beginning of the 20th century.

The bridge was completed in 1912. Lighting fixtures are integrated into their iron struts. Between 2000 and 2002, extensive renovation work was carried out under the direction of the Plass + Partner engineering office on behalf of the Berlin Senate Department for Urban Development . Like the road over it, the bridge is named after the Slavic god Triglaw .

In June 2015, a construction vehicle damaged the supporting structure of the bridge, which then had to be closed to all vehicle traffic. The repairs only took a week, but highlighted the importance of the bridge for the islanders.
