Trinseo is a Luxembourg chemical company with headquarters in Luxembourg City and administrative headquarters in Berwyn near Philadelphia .

Trinseo manufactures natural rubber (styrene-butadiene latex and styrene-acrylate latex), solution styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR), lithium- catalyzed low-cis- butadiene rubber (Li-BR), nickel- catalyzed high-cis -Butadiene rubber (Ni-BR), emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber (E-SBR) and polystyrene , acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS), styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN), polycarbonate and polypropylene .

Production also takes place at the original location of the Buna-Werke in Schkopau , where a new SSBR production facility with an additional capacity of 50,000 tons per year was put into operation in 2012.

history

Trinseo was formed under the name Styron as a spin-off from Dow Chemical in 2010. In the bidding battle, Bain Capital prevailed against Apollo Management , the Texas Pacific Group and Lotte Chemical , who took 23.6% of the company public in 2014 brought. The American Trinseo is from the in Luxembourg settled Trinseo SA held. By 2016, Bain Capital had sold all shares in Trinseo.
