Oranienburger Tor underground station
The underground station Oranienburger Tor is a station of the metro line 6 in the Berlin district of Mitte . It is 4.90 meters below Friedrichstrasse at the level of Claire-Waldoff-Strasse . It was built since 1915 to a design by Alfred Grenander and opened on January 30, 1923. At the BVG it is carried under the abbreviation Ob . The station is barrier-free with an elevator to Oranienburger Straße .
From April to June 1945 the station was closed due to war damage . From August 13, 1961 to July 1, 1990, it was a so-called " ghost station ", the subway only stopped at Friedrichstrasse .
The station is a simple middle- platform station that is kept in white, the station signs have a blue border. It is a listed building .
Connection
At the underground station you can change from line U6 to tram lines M1, M5 and 12 as well as to the night bus line N6 of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe .
