Ulrich Nöhle

Ulrich Nöhle (born 1953 ) is a German food chemist , honorary professor and manager who also works as a management consultant. He specializes in interim management in the food, feed and cosmetics industries and offers media training . He also participates in numerous associations and appears in public himself.

Career

From 1973 to 1977 Ulrich Nöhle studied food chemistry at the TU Berlin . After completing his studies, he went to the Federal Institute for Dairy Research in Kiel in 1978 . In 1982 he received his doctorate from the TU Berlin. In the meantime he worked in product development at the Kraft Foods Group . From 1986 to 1989 he worked for the Hamburg Rowntree Mackintosh GmbH, responsible for quality management . From 1989 he worked longer for Nestlé , where he a. as general representative responsible for central purchasing at Nestlé Deutschland AG. In September 2003 he switched to Nordzucker . Nöhle was CEO there, from whom he resigned in 2007 after losing support from the Nordzucker AG Supervisory Board in a dispute about the future direction of the company.

As a service provider, he has been specializing in interim and crisis management for the food and feed industry since 2008 . He is particularly dedicated to conflict resolution and mediation between manufacturers, official surveillance and media representatives.

The former Otterndorf prison was restored by him with the support of the public sector as well as the Lower Saxony Sparkasse Foundation and the German Foundation for Monument Protection , and from then on it was used as a training center for managers .

On September 12, 2013, he was the guest of honor at the opening of the Eurofins Campus Hamburg and the groundbreaking ceremony for the 2nd building on Neuländer Kamp.

In 2014 Nöhle was elected chairman of the Lower Saxony Consumer Commission at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection .

As an honorary professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig , he holds a lecture on quality management in industrial food production.

On November 1, 2016, Prof. Nöhle was appointed by the Stade Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a publicly appointed and sworn expert for food safety , food hygiene and food chemistry .

During the annual conference in Chemnitz on October 14, 2017, Prof. Nöhle was appointed an honorary member of the Federal Association of Food Chemists in the Public Sector (BLC) .

In addition, Prof. Nöhle is involved in regional association conferences in northern Germany as part of the food chemistry society . He is also committed to whistleblower protection .

Journalistic activity

In addition to his work as a scientist and consultant, Nöhle is also a journalist. He published articles and web videos in his own column in the business blog Filetspitzen and writes guest articles in industry media such as the meat industry .

In public lectures he appears as a provocative lobbyist for the food industry . He regularly attacks the media and press, accusing them of scandalizing and prejudging the food industry. He takes the view that the existing complex provisions of food law are sufficient for consumer protection . He urges the official food control to face the challenges of globalization and to intensify cooperation at European and international level. When dealing with the media, he recommends that all those involved treat potential troublemakers with transparency and objectivity, especially in crisis situations . He recommends that the Federal Institute for Risk Recommendations (BfR) become closer to the people in science communication .
