Unter der Sonne is the second solo album by the Austrian rapper Chakuza . It was released in 2008 on Bushido's music label ersguterjunge . The album was released in a standard version, but is also available in a limited premium edition, on which there are five bonus tracks.

The music was mainly produced by the producer duo Beatlefield , which consists of Chakuza himself and DJ Stickle . The title track Unter der Sonne was produced by Beatlefield together with Steddybeats, who are responsible for the drums in the intro. The songs Blind and What happened? were contributed by katch22 and E. Ökmen (Kingstrumentals). STI produced Running Man , while Milan Martelli was not responsible for the background music for Geht . The beats for Let me breathe , We march and Asocial slang were produced by Raf Camora, who by the way didn’t have any vocal interventions. Brisk Fingaz contributed the music to "Jackpot", while Flashgordon produced the track Legends , which is only included in the limited edition. The song MOTU , which is also only included on the Premium Edition, was accompanied musically by Tobstarr. All tracks were recorded in the ersgutesstudio by DJ Stickle. The mix was also done by DJ Stickle, with the intro and Unter der Sonne assisted by Steddybeats. The mastering was carried out by Dirk Niemeier in the Eastside Mastering Studios in Berlin.

Guest Posts

The album contains eight guest contributions on the normal version and 12 on the limited edition, which means that over half of the songs contain features. On "Blind" the Austrian singer Evelyn has a short vocal part in the chorus . Bushido can be heard on the title track "Unter der Sonne". Nyze, also under contract with ersguterjunge , is represented on "Licht und Schatten". Raf Camora can be heard in the chorus of "Geht nicht". Singer Tarééc, with whom Chakuza recorded two songs for his album "Hope", sings the refrain of "Let me breathe". Bizzy Montana, with whom Chakuza released the 2006 street album Blackout , is represented on "ER" . Lenny Wolf, singer and founder of the hard rock band Kingdom Come , can be heard on the song "Jackpot" in the chorus with a passage sung in English. The German dream artist Summer Cem, who was in close contact with ersguterjunge at the time, is featured on the song "Asozialenslang". The Mannheim rapper Sprachtot can be heard on "Legenden", a song of the limited version, where Kay One can also be heard on "Schlag Alarm", D-Bo in the song "Was then?" as well as prices on "MOTU" have their guest parts.

The cover of the basic version shows Chakuza with outstretched arms and naked torso looking towards the sun . The cover picture of the limited version shows the same background, but in front of it is a flying, black bird with outstretched wings . The photos were taken by Murat Aslan, Ben Baumgarten from GrafixXXL in Berlin was responsible for the artwork.

For the title track "Unter der Sonne", on which Bushido can be heard, a single was released, for which a blue box video was shot. In this, the two rappers can be seen under the sun, matching the title. The video was produced by Tonyfilm in Hamburg.

successes

The album reached number nine in the German album charts in the first week. After the other placements 25, 41, 62, 72, 79 and 97, the CD got out of the charts. In Austria , "Unter der Sonne" was ranked 13th in week one, but the CD dropped out of the charts after positions 26, 33, 42, 67, 75 and 73. In Switzerland , the CD said goodbye after three weeks and ranked 29, 68 and 89 from the charts.

criticism

The website rappers.in praised the "high quality lyrics" on the album, which reveal a central theme in the album, the flows and the majority of the beats. Some features as well as individual musical background were criticized. The site rated the album with a rounded 8 out of 10 stars. The editors of laut.de rated the album with two out of a possible five points, highlighting Chakuza's voice, the productions of the beats and Chakuza's technique. Mainly the language was criticized.
