Weidach is a village in North Tyrol and part of the municipality of Leutasch in the Innsbruck-Land district , Tyrol .

geography

View from the Arnplattenspitze to Oberleutasch

The place is in the Leutasch Valley , 20 kilometers northwest of Innsbruck, where the Leutasch Straße  (L 14) comes down from Seefeld .

The place comprises the districts of Oberweidach upstream from the state road and Unterweidach downstream, and three settlements that are already completely overgrown today, the hamlet of Seewald at the west end of the lake and the Rotte Kreith in the south, and the settlement of Föhrenwald an der Ache, together around 350 buildings. While Kirchplatzl is the old village center of Oberleutasch , Weidach is the currently developing center of the place.

Infrastructure

The place belongs to the tourist region Olympiaregion Seefeld .

Here is the Leutasch play park with the 1200 m long summer toboggan run , various bathing facilities and a petting zoo, as well as the 3-seater Kreithbahn chairlift and the Schleifer Xanderlift as a small ski area ( Katzenköpf , 1480  m above sea level and 1478  m above sea level ).

The Weidachsee west of the village is not a bathing lake, but a fish pond and fishing waters . Fish farming is mentioned as early as 1504 in the fishery book of the Innsbruck hunting clerk Wolfgang Hohenleiter, commissioned by the German Emperor Maximilian I.
