Veljko Žibret (born June 3, 1978 in Zagreb , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Croatian ice hockey player who was under contract with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb his entire career .

Career

Veljko Žibret began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the KHL Medveščak Zagreb , for which he made his debut in the Croatian ice hockey league in the 1995/96 season . From 2000 to 2007, the center took part in parallel for Medveščak in the interleague and from 2007 to 2009 in the Slovenian ice hockey league . Only in the 2005/06 season he ran for another club, the SD Alfa from Slovenia. In the 2009/10 season he played parallel to the operation of the Croatian ice hockey league in the newly founded Slohokej League and in the 2010/11 season in this for the Zagreb team , the joint project of the Zagreb top clubs. He ended his career in summer 2011.

With the KHL Medveščak Zagreb he won the Croatian championship title 14 times .

International

For Croatia , Žibret took part in the junior division in the U18 Junior C European Championships in 1995 and 1996 and in the U20 Junior C World Championship in 1997 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the D World Championships in 1997 , at the C World Championships in 1998 , 1999 and 2000 and, after the switch to the current division system, at the World Championships of Division II in 2004 , 2005 , 2007 and 2011 and Division I. 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2006 , 2008 , 2009 and 2010 . He also played for Croatia in qualifying for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and 2010 in Vancouver .
