Vendetta - All that was left for him was revenge (original title: Aftermath ) is an American - British drama by director Elliott Lester from 2017 about a plane crash that destroys the lives of two victims. The leading roles are played by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Scoot McNairy .

Construction worker Roman loses his wife, daughter and unborn grandchild in a collision between two planes . He despairs of this misfortune, withdraws from life and drowns his grief in alcohol.
The life of the air traffic controller Jacob, who was on duty alone in the tower at the time of the collision , is also shattered by the accident. His wife Christina leaves him because she cannot cope with his mental state and takes their son Samuel with her.
A year later, Roman is still devastated. What annoys him most is that none of those responsible regrets or apologized for the death of his family. He learns from a journalist that Jacob now lives under a different name in another state. He goes to see Jacob and confront him with his despair.
Jacob is visiting Christina and Samuel for the first time when Roman stands at the door of his apartment and accuses him of the death of his family. Jacob wants to get rid of Roman and threatens him with the police. When he slaps a photo of Roman's wife and daughter out of his hand, Roman freaks out. He pulls out a knife and stabs Jacob. Christina and Samuel, who arrive at that moment, have to watch helplessly as he bleeds to death.
Eleven years later, Roman was released on parole . His first way leads him to the cemetery at the grave of his family. There he is approached by a young man who explains that he cannot find the exit. Roman offers to accompany him. On the way to the exit, the man says that his father is not buried here. At that moment Roman realizes that the man is Jacob's son Samuel. Samuel draws a pistol , which he holds to Roman's head. When he says that he can understand if Samuel would kill him and that he is sorry for what he did, Samuel lets go of him. He says he can kill Roman but won't because he wasn't brought up that way. While he stays in the cemetery, Roman goes away.
