In the administrative community Arneburg-Goldbeck in the district of Stendal ( Saxony-Anhalt ) originally 22 communities were united to handle their administrative business.

The area of the VG comprised part of the north-eastern Altmark and the southern and eastern parts of the Wische . The Elbe formed the natural eastern border of the administrative community.

The administrative community was created on January 1, 2005 from the merger of 12 municipalities of the dissolved Arneburg-Krusemark administrative community (the Jarchau municipality, which had also been part of the administrative community to date , was incorporated into Stendal on the same day ) and the 10 municipalities of the dissolved Mittlere Uchte administrative community .
