To the west of the village, the Elbe Cycle Path leads north to Kannenberg .

Neighboring places are Kannenberg in the west, Berge in the north, Sandau (Elbe) in the east, Büttnershof in the south and Germerslage in the southwest.

Subdivision breakdown

In addition to the village of Sandauerholz, the Sandauerholz district includes the former residential areas Am Elbdeich , Am Gänsebring (or Gänsebrink) and the ferry jug on the Elbe ferry.

history

The first mention of the place name could not be determined. The place emerged as a colony in a Sandau wood district on the western bank of the Elbe, which was also described as belonging to Sandau in 1820.

Agriculture

During the land reform in 1945, the following were determined: an estate over 100 hectares with 150 hectares, 14 possessions under 100 hectares with a total of 248 hectares, a municipal ownership with 6 hectares, one property with 427 hectares was occupied and cultivated by the Red Army. Two businesses, a farm and the manor Büttnershof were expropriated. In 1948, 54 full settlers each acquired over 5 hectares and 12 small settlers each less than 5 hectares from the land reform.

Incorporations

According to Wilhelm Zahn , the later village belonged to the town of Sandau east of the Elbe in 1807 , then to Schwarzholz . In the 1871 census, the Colonie Sandauerholz was a residential area of the municipality of Germerslage.

In 1883 the independent community of Sandauerholz was established. On September 30, 1928, the Germerslage manor district (with the Büttnershof ) was merged with the rural community of Sandauerholz.

On 25 July 1952, the municipality Sandauerholz was from the district Osterburg in the district Osterburg reclassified. In 1965 the district of Kannenberg von Berge was assigned to the municipality of Sandauerholz, where it then remained. On July 1, 1994, Sandauerholz was assigned to the Stendal district .

On January 12th, 2009, the municipal council of the municipality of Sandauerholz decided that the municipality of Sandauerholz should be incorporated into the municipality of Iden. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on July 1, 2009.

Thus, Sandauerholz has been a district since July 1, 2009 and, together with its former districts Büttnershof, Germerslage and Kannenberg, belongs to the municipality of Iden.
