The Altmark street village Busch is located 13 kilometers east of the town Osterburg in the Swipe of a ditch called Bever Lake.

Neighboring places are Iden in the west, Giesenslage and Hohenhof in the north, Kannenberg in the northeast, Germerslage in the east and Klein Hindenburg in the south.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1441 as To dem Busche , when Margrave Friedrich pledged Arneburg Castle with money raised from some villages. In 1513 the von Kannenberg brothers were wonaffitg thom Buske . Further mentions are 1687 Busche, Zum Busche , 1651 Buschaw and Buschow .

The place name Busch is of German origin.

From 1513 to 1762 the estate belonged to the von Kannenberg family. The daughter of the last von Kannenberg married a General von Kahlden . From 1837 to 1877 it belonged to von Rohr and from 1877 to 1885 to Zacher. Many changes of ownership followed. In 1928 it came to Ernst Walkhoff, then to Dieckmann (according to other information already in 1921 to the sugar beet grower Paul Dieckmann ans Heimburg) and from 1937 to 1945 the Berlin industrialist Dr. Heiligendorff in Berlin-Schöneberg.

Agriculture

During the land reform in 1945, the following were determined: three properties under 100 hectares had a total of 32 hectares, a church property 14 hectares, a parish authority 2 hectares, and one property with 315 hectares was managed by the SMAD . The manor Busch with 315.4 hectares was expropriated. In 1947 a "Landesgut Busch" was formed with an area of 264 hectares. In 1948, three full settlers each acquired 3 hectares and 39 small settlers each less than 5 hectares from the land reform. In 1949, Volksgut No. IX / 8 was created from the estate, from 1953 the VEG Giesenslage estate belonged to it , from 1953 to 1955 with the VEG Rengerslage as a department, in 1965 the VEG Sandauerholz Fährkrug was attached, in 1973 the estate came to the KAP "Altmärkische Wische". After 1991, the Treuhand did not lease the property, but managed it on its own as a wage.

In 1996 the estate was successfully privatized when it was sold to a farmer's family who originally came from Wurmberg in Württemberg . They developed the estate into an organic farm.

Incorporations

On September 30, 1928, the Busch manor from the Osterburg district was merged with the Busch rural community . On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Busch was dissolved and incorporated into the municipality of Iden.
