Lindtorf is a district of the municipality of Eichstedt (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Lindtorf is located in the Altmark between the Uchte and the Elbe , about nine kilometers north of Stendal .

Neighboring towns are Eichstedt (Altmark) in the west, Baben in the north-west, Beelitz in the east, Rindtorf in the south and Baumgarten in the south-west.

In addition to the village of Lindtorf, the district includes the residential area An der Molkerei , the former dairy , located north of the village .

history

Lindtorf, originally laid out by Wenden as a round village, has developed into a clustered village . In 1431 it was first mentioned as In dem dorff czw Lintdorff , when Margrave Johann enfeoffed two citizens of Tangermünde with a free court in the village. Further mentions are 1540 Lintdorff , 1687 Lindtorff and 1804 Lindtorf .

Agriculture

During the land reform in 1945, the following were determined: 22 properties under 100 hectares had a total of 451 hectares, a church property had 3 hectares and a parish had one hectare. In 1953 the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG " Klara Zetkin ", was established. In 1960 there was also an LPG type I "Altmark" and 7 hectares of land were privately owned. Finally, in 1975 the LPG Type III Lindtorf, LPG “8. March "Jarchau and LPG" Einigkeit Eichstedt "merged. This resulted in LPG plant production in 1976. The LPG animal production "Herdbuchzucht" established in 1984 was converted into a "Milchproduktion Lindtorf eG" in 1992, today's milk production company.

Origin of the place name

The name Lindtorf can be related to "linda" for "linden tree" or "lint" for "snake".

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Rindtorf was incorporated. On 25 July 1952, the municipality Lindtorf was from the district of Stendal in the district Stendal reclassified. After its dissolution, it came to the new Stendal district on July 1, 1994.

Until December 31, 2009, Lindtorf was an independent municipality with the district of Rindtorf. The councils of the municipalities of Baben (on January 27, 2009), Eichstedt (Altmark) (on February 11, 2009) and Lindtorf (on January 29, 2009) decided that their municipalities should be dissolved and become a new municipality with the Names Eichstedt (Altmark) are united. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

The Protestant parish of Lindtorf used to belong to the parish of Baben near Goldbeck. It is now run by the parish area Arneburg the church district Stendal in Propst Sprengel Stendal Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The oldest surviving church records for Lindtorf date from 1773, older information can be found in Baben.

The coat of arms was approved on May 5, 2003 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.

Blazon : "Split between red and silver, in front a silver soaring dragon turned to the left with a golden tongue and armor, behind a red soaring ox with black horns and claws, around the neck a golden ribbon with two fluttering ends."

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch .

  • The Protestant village church in Lindtorf was built from boulders during the first half of the 12th century, although the tower was probably only added in the 14th century.
  • The local cemetery is located in the churchyard.

Economy and Infrastructure

At the end of the 1970s, a 2,000-meter dairy cattle facility was built, originally a type facility with almost 1,930 cow places, which has been modernized several times. Today it belongs to the milk production company in Lindtorf, which keeps 1,200 cows in the loose barn and 700 animals for breeding and also produces plants to feed the animals.

Transport links

The road from Stendal to Goldbeck runs through Lindtorf. The nearest train stations are in Goldbeck and Eichstedt (Altmark) on the Magdeburg – Wittenberge line .
