In the Ershausen / Geismar administrative community from the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia , ten municipalities have come together to handle their administrative business. It was named after the district of Ershausen in the community of Schimberg and the community of Geismar.
The administrative community is based in Schimberg .

history
The administrative community was formed on January 1, 1997 from the dissolved administrative communities Geismar and Südeichsfeld . The formation of today's community Schimberg took place on July 30, 1997 through the amalgamation of the formerly independent communities Ershausen (with the towns of Misserode and Lehna, which were incorporated on January 1, 1957) as well as Martinfeld, armaments and Wilbich. As part of the Thuringia regional reform in 2018 and 2019 , the member community of Bernterode was spun off from the administrative community on January 1, 2019 and incorporated into the city of Heilbad Heiligenstadt .
