Vilhonneur ( Occitan : Vilonor ) is a village and a former French community with 413 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belonged to the Arrondissement of Angoulême and the canton of Val de Tardoire (until 2015: canton of La Rochefoucauld ). The inhabitants are called Vilhonnorois .
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Vilhonneur and Rancogne were merged to form Commune nouvelle Moulins-sur-Tardoire and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Vilhonneur.

Vilhonneur is located in the Pays d'Horte et Tardoire , about 20 kilometers east-northeast of Angoulême on the Tardoire . Vilhonneur is surrounded by the villages of Rancogne in the north, Saint-Sornin in the northeast, Vouthon in the east and southeast, Saint-Germain-de-Montbron in the south, Chazelles in the southwest and Pranzac in the west.
