Vito Rallo (born May 30, 1953 in Mazara del Vallo , Trapani Province , Italy ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Vito Rallo studied philosophy and moral theology in Rome and received the sacrament of priestly ordination on April 1, 1979 through the Bishop of Mazara del Vallo , Costantino Trapani OFM . He was educated at the Pontifical Lateran University with the dissertation Il patrimonio ecclesiastico, con particolare riferimento alla Diocesi di Mazara del Vallo (1093-1860) ("The ecclesiastical inheritance, in particular with regard to the diocese of Mazara del Vallo (1093-1860)") the doctor of Laws PhD .

On February 20, 1988, Vito Rallo entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See . Pope John Paul II awarded him the honorary title of Chaplain of His Holiness ( Monsignor ) on June 15, 1989 . He served in the Apostolic Nunciatures in South Korea , Senegal , Mexico , Canada , Lebanon and Spain . Pope John Paul II appointed him permanent observer at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on January 28, 2004 .

On June 12, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Alba and it ordered the apostolic nuncio in Burkina Faso and Niger . He was ordained bishop by Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone SDB on October 28, 2007; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Mazara del Vallo, Domenico Mogavero , and the Archbishop of Koupéla , Séraphin François Rouamba .

Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Morocco on December 12, 2015 .
