The Volksbank Raiffeisenbank eG, Bargteheide Mountains Village Stormarn-Vierlanden is a cooperative bank with its headquarters in Bad Oldesloe .

history

Volksbank eG, VBS emerged from the merger of Vierländer Volksbank eG and Volksbank Stormarn eG. As early as March 18, 1892, 48 Kirchwerder citizens founded the Kirchwärder Spar- und Leihkasse eGmbH. On December 31, 1987, the savings and loan fund Altengamme eG and Kirchwärder Spar- und Leihkasse eGmbH merged to form Vierländer Volksbank eG.

In relation to this, the Volksbank Bergedorf eGmbH was founded late in 1954 by Bergedorf business people at the founding meeting at Gasthof Heinrich Olff, and the first business premises were opened at Mohnhof 14 in Hamburg-Bergedorf that same year . In 1955 the first branch on Lohbrügger Markt followed. In 1956, the cooperative acquired the Sachsentor 55 property in Hamburg-Bergedorf, which was temporarily used as the bank's headquarters and - together with the neighboring property No. 57, which was later purchased - still serves as the location of the Bergedorf office today. Further branches were opened in Reinbek (1958), Trittau (1961) and Glinde (1964). The first merger with Volksbank eG Bad Oldesloe followed in 1987, and the branches in Bad Oldesloe and Reinfeld (Holstein) were added. The merger with Raiffeisenbank Ochsenwerder in 1989 expanded the branch network again. In 1990 Volksbank Stormarn eG first founded its first subsidiary, G&H Vermögensverwaltung GmbH. In 1992 WVB Immobilien GmbH was added. The merger of Volksbank Stormarn eG with Raiffeisenbank eG , Bad Oldesloe in 2003 was the last merger of the credit institute operating as a universal bank . In 2012 Volksbank Stormarn eG founded an official branch under the name Volksbank Bergedorf in order to underpin the regional ties to the founding location.

In autumn 2017, the boards of directors of Volksbank Stormarn eG and Vierländer Volksbank eG, based in Hamburg, entered into talks about a merger. The merger of the two banks to form the new Volksbank eG, VBS, with retroactive effect on January 1, 2018, was unanimously decided at the meetings of representatives of both banks on May 16 and 17, 2018.

In 2019 the bank merged with Raiffeisenbank Bargteheide eG, based in Bargteheide . The name of Volksbank eG, VBS was changed to Volksbank Raiffeisenbank eG on October 8, 2019 .

In the regions, the banks known to customers Vierländer Volksbank, Volksbank Bergedorf, Volksbank Stormarn and Raiffeisenbank Bargteheide will continue to operate in accordance with the branch principle.
