The Voyager is a cruise ship built in 1990 .

history

The ship was built from 1988 to 1990 under construction number 185 at the Spanish shipyard Union Naval de Levante. The keel was laid on October 4, 1988, the launch on October 30, 1989. The ship was completed on October 25, 1990.

The ship came into service as the Crown Monarch for Commodore Cruise Line. It was sold and chartered several times in the years up to 2008 and used under different names.

In December 2007 the ship came to Bremerhaven under the name Jules Verne , where it was rebuilt by Bremerhavener Dockgesellschaft mbH (Bredo). Thereafter, the ship was used from May 2008 to November 2008 by the tour operator Phoenix Reisen from Bonn under the name Alexander von Humboldt . The ship was managed by the now insolvent company C-Cruises from Veenendaal , Netherlands. On November 30, 2008, the ship was launched in the Bremerhaven fishing port, where the Bredo shipyard temporarily secured the lifeboats to secure outstanding claims amounting to around 300,000 euros. The majority of the claims were later settled by the Isle of Man- based company V.Ships and the ship was hauled by the tug Englishman to Great Britain in September 2009 , where it was taken over by All Leisure Group at an auction in November. All Leisure Group wanted to invest US $ 20 million in the ship. From the beginning of December 2012, the ship operated as Voyager for the British tour operator Voyages of Discovery. In January 2017, All Leisure Group , parent company of Voyages of Discovery, filed for bankruptcy and the ship was decommissioned.

In 2017 the ship was sold to Grupo Vidanta and renamed Vidanta Alegria . From April 2017 onwards, the ship was rebuilt at the Sembawang shipyard and from October 2017 onwards at Navantia in Cádiz . Commissioning was planned for 2018. The ship has been called Vidanta Elegant since June 2018 and Cruise Management International from Miami took over operation of the ship at the end of October 2019.

The ship offers space for around 470 passengers in 260 cabins. Seven decks are available for passengers.
