Vritz ( Breton : Gwerid ; Gallo : Veriz ) is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Vallons de l'Erdre with 767 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Vritziens .

On January 1, 2018, Vritz was merged with Bonnœuvre , Maumusson , Saint-Mars-la-Jaille and Saint-Sulpice-des-Landes to form the commune nouvelle Vallons-de-l'Erdre. The municipality of Vritz belonged to the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and the canton of Ancenis (until 2015: canton of Saint-Mars-la-Jaille ).

geography

Vritz is located about 54 kilometers northeast of Nantes and about 40 kilometers west-northwest of Angers . Vritz is surrounded by the villages of Challain-la-Potherie in the north, Angrie in the east, Candé in the southeast, Freigné in the south and southwest and Le Pin in the west.
