Maumusson ( Breton : Malvegon ; Gallo : Maumuczon ) is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Vallons de l'Erdre with 1,058 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Maumussonnais .

On January 1, 2018, Maumusson was merged with Bonnœuvre , Freigné , Saint-Mars-la-Jaille , Saint-Sulpice-des-Landes and Vritz to form the municipality ( commune nouvelle ) Vallons-de-l'Erdre. The municipality of Maumusson belonged to the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and the canton of Ancenis (until 2015: canton of Saint-Mars-la-Jaille ).

Maumusson is about 46 kilometers northeast of Nantes . Maumusson is surrounded by the villages of Freigné in the north, Belligné in the east, Loireauxence in the east and south-east, La Roche-Blanche in the south, Pouillé-les-Côteaux in the west and south-west, Pannecé in the west and Bonnœuvre and Saint-Mars-la-Jaille in the north-west.
