Wachtberg is a place in the Mostviertel in Lower Austria and belongs to the municipality of Behamberg in the Amstetten district .

geography

The place Wachtberg is located directly on the Upper Austrian border east of Steyr , around 2½ kilometers northwest of the place Behamberg . The scattered settlement is located in the pre-Alpine Riedel land above the Enns , and over to the Talungen of Pichler Bach , a small side stream of the Erla to Ybbs at the 330- 390  m above sea level. A. Height.

The location extends along the B122  Voralpen Straße (Amstetten - Steyr) and B42  Haager Straße (from Haag here to the B122). It includes the actual houses of Wachtberg on the Steyr city limits (a good 10 addresses), as well as the village of Holz on the watershed to the east, and the Rotte Wanzenöd to the northeast.
