Wafer max

Wafmax is a size specification for ships . It describes the largest ships that can just call at the container ports of West Africa. The name is a contraction of the term W est af rika max . They are up to 250.0  m long, 37.4 m wide and have a maximum draft of 13.5 m. These ships have a container capacity of 4500 TEU. At the moment (June 2011) only the Danish shipping company Maersk operates ships of this type in the West African service.
