Q-Max

Q-Max , also Qatar-Max , is a size specification for ships . It relates to ships that can just barely call at the port of Ras Laffan in Qatar . They are 345 m long, 53.8 m wide and can transport 266,000 m³ of liquefied natural gas . The Q stands for the English name of the country 'Qatar'.

So far, 14 ships of this size - the Nakilat Q-Max class - have been delivered to the Qatar Gas Transport Company by the shipyards Samsung Heavy Industries , Hyundai and DSME .
