Valery Eduardowitsch Orechow ( Kazakh Валерий Эдуардович Орехов ; born July 17, 1999 ) is a Kazakh ice hockey player who has been under contract with Barys Astana / Nur-Sultan since 2015 and has played with the club in the Continental Hockey League since 2017 .

Career

Valery Orechov has played for Barys Astana / Nur-Sultan since the beginning of his career . In the KHL Junior Draft 2016 , his own club drew him in the second round as the 44th player. After he was initially active with the club in the Russian U18 league, he played from 2016 to 2018 with the affiliated junior team Snezhnye Barsy Astana in the Russian-dominated junior league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga . Since 2017 he has also played in the first men's team in the Continental Hockey League .

International

For Kazakhstan, Orechow initially took part in the U18 World Championships of Division I in 2016 and 2017 in the junior division . He played with the Kazakh U20 team at the world tournaments of Division I in 2017 and 2018 when, as the best preparer and (together with his compatriot Artur Gatiyatov ) top scorer of the tournament, he made a significant contribution to the rise of the Kazakhs to the top division.

For the Kazakh men , Orechow played for the first time at the World Cup Division I 2018 .
