Dmitri Igorewitsch Grenz ( Kazakh Дмитрий Игоревич Гренц ; born May 12, 1986 in Öskemen ) is a Kazakh ice hockey player who has been under contract with Barys Astana / Nur-Sultan in the Continental Hockey League since 2014 .

Career

Dmitri Grenz began his career as an ice hockey player with Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk , for whose second team he made his debut in the Kazakh ice hockey championship in the 2013/14 season . He had previously been selected by the Kazakh KHL club Barys Astana in the third round of the KHL Junior Draft 2013 as the 92nd player. In 2014 he moved to Barys, but was initially mainly used by Nomad Astana, the club's second team from the Kazakh championship, and by Snezhnye Barsy Astana, the junior team from the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaya League . He played his first KHL games in the 2015/16 season. In 2017 he became Kazakh champion with Nomad Astana . In the 2017/18 season, in addition to his appearances for Barys Astana, he also played in the first team of Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk in the Vysschaja Hockey League .

International

For Kazakhstan, Grenz initially took part in Division I of the U18 Junior World Championships in 2013 and 2014 in the junior division. With the Kazakh U20 team , he played in Division I at the U20 Junior World Championships in 2014 , 2015 and 2016 , when he was third-best scorer behind Austrian Dominic Zwerger, together with his countryman Älichan Ässetow , Austrian Florian Baltram and Norwegian Anders Gulliksen and the Kazakhs Vladimir Volkov and, together with Zwerger, became the third-best preparer behind Volkov and Gulliksen. With the Kazakh student selection , he took part in the 2017 Winter Universiade in his own country and reached the final, which was lost to the Russian students.

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad in the top division at the 2016 World Cup and in Division I at the 2018 World Cup . In addition, he ran for Kazakhstan in the Olympic qualification for the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang and the 2017 Winter Asian Games in Japanese Sapporo , which he was able to win with his team.
