Älichan Ässetuly Ässetow ( Kazakh Әлихан Әсетұлы Әсетов , Russian Алихан Асетович Асетов / Alichan Assetowitsch Assetow ; born August 26, 1996 in Öskemen ) is a Kazakh ice hockey player from Astana / Nur-Sultan who has been under contract with Nur-Sultan since 2013 .

Career

Älichan Ässetow began his career as an ice hockey player with Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk in his hometown Öskemen . At the KHL Junior Draft 2013 he was selected by Barys Astana in the fourth round as a total of 128th player. There he played until 2016 for Snezhnye Barsy Astana, the junior team from the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League . Since 2014, he has also been used by Nomad Astana, Barys' second team, in the Kazakh championship , in which he still plays today. With Nomad he became Kazakh champion in 2017 . He played his first KHL game for Barys Astana in the 2015/16 season and has been a regular member of the KHL since 2018.

International

For Kazakhstan, Ässetow initially took part in Division I of the U18 World Championships in 2013 and 2014 in the junior division . With the Kazakh U20 team he played in Division I at the U20 World Championships in 2015 and 2016 , when he was the top scorer and, together with his countryman Dmitri Grenz , the Austrian Florian Baltram and the Norwegian Anders Gulliksen, he was the third best scorer behind the Austrian Dominic Zwerger and the Kazakh Vladimir Volkov was also voted the best player of his team. With the Kazakh student selection , he took part in the 2017 Winter Universiade in his own country and reached the final, which was lost to the Russian students.

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2017 and 2018 . In addition, he played for Kazakhstan at the Winter Asian Games 2017 in Sapporo , Japan , which he won with his team.
