Florian Baltram (born March 25, 1997 in Vienna ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been under contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League since 2015 .

Career

Florian Baltram attended the international ice hockey academy Okanagan Hockey Europe in St. Pölten and played for their Lower Austria Stars in the U20, where he made over 80 appearances from 2012 to 2014 and scored 29 goals and 37 assists. In the summer of 2014, Baltram was selected in the second round in the second round by the Seattle Thunderbirds from the Western Hockey League (WHL). He came to the T-Birds on 35 missions with five scorer points before he came to the Lethbridge Hurricanes from the WHL in January 2015 and scored 14 points in 34 missions.

From September 2015 he played for EC Red Bull Salzburg after making his way on their farm team . In his first season he was Austrian champion and EBEL winner with the Bulls . In the summer of 2016, he took part in an NHL training camp with the New York Islanders .

International

Baltram participated with the Austrian national teams in the U18 World Championships in 2014 and 2015 as well as in the U20 World Championships in 2015 and 2016 in Division I, where he and his teammates at the U18 World Championships in 2015 from the B to the A group Division I could advance; Baltram was the best assists and second best scorer of the tournament behind his compatriot Christof Kromp . At the U20 World Cup in 2016, he was the team captain and won the silver medal with the team, and Baltram was also voted the best striker in Division I, Group A.
