Lukas Herzog (born February 7, 1993 in Zell am See ) is an Austrian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League since April 2018 .

Career

Lukas Herzog moved from Zell am See to Villach in 2009 and went through the VSV junior stations. After making 59 appearances for the VSV U20 team and having been on the ice five times in the EBEL, he took over the second goalkeeping position from Thomas Höneckl for the 2015/16 season

In his season debut on November 24th against the EC Graz 99ers he did not score and was voted player of the evening for this shutout . In November 2015, he won the league's “ EBEL YoungStar of the Month” election, carried out among fans, national team coaches and sports experts .

In the 2016/17 season, Herzog was on the ice more often than in the four previous seasons together, which was due to the injury-related failure of one-goal keeper Olivier Roy . On February 5, 2017, he managed another shutout against the EC Graz 99ers. By Roger Bader he was in preparation for the World Ice Hockey Championships in 2017 in the national team convened and debuted on February 10, 2017 in a game against Norway , which with 2: 1 was won after extra time.

In April 2018, the EC Red Bull Salzburg announced Herzog's commitment.
