Layne Viveiros (born August 4, 1995 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is an Austro - Canadian ice hockey player . He has been under contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg since 2015 .
Player career
The son of longtime professional player (in the NHL, IHL as well as in Austria, Germany, South Tyrol) and trainer Emanuel Viveiros learned in the youth department of Klagenfurt AC and went in 2011 to the Portland Winter Hawks in the United States that made him the WHL Bantam Draft 2011 in the ninth round as a total of 196 players had drawn. During the 2012/13 season he was temporarily loaned to the Camrose Kodiaks ( Alberta Junior Hockey League ). He played a total of four years with the Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League before he returned to Austria in 2015 and signed a contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg from the Austrian ice hockey league . In his first year with the “Red Bulls” he was Austrian champion.
National team
Viveiros came to the World Championships in 2013 and 2014 in Division I for Austria's U20 national team .
He was called up for the first time in the Austrian men's national team on November 5, 2015 in a 2-1 win after extra time against South Korea in the friendly match in Katowice, Poland . He then took part in the World Championships in 2016 and 2017 in Division I.

- 2017 Promotion to the top division at the World Championship of Division I, Group A.
