Richard "Rick" Schofield (born April 23, 1987 in Pickering , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg from the Austrian ice hockey league since August 2020 .

Career

Rick Schofield began his career with the Pickering Panthers in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League (OPJHL). He then played for Lake Superior State University in the NCAA and came to 144 missions, in which he scored 104 points . He was assistant captain in the 2008/09 season and captain of the team from 2009 to 2011.

With the Syracuse Crunch he reached the play-offs of the American Hockey League in the 2011/12 season , but they were lost in the quarter-finals to the St. John's IceCaps . In the 2012/13 game year he reached the AHL play-offs again with the Rochester Americans , where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals against Toronto Marlies .

From 2013 Schofield played for the Italian club HC Bozen and won the EBEL 2013/14 with them . In the following season he was alternate captain of HC Bozen. This time the club was eliminated after reaching the play-offs in the quarter-finals against EHC Linz .

In 2015/16, Rick Schofield played for the Villach club EC VSV , was the club's top scorer and was tenth in the league. For the following season he was committed by league rivals EHC Linz.
