Weidach- und Zettachwald is a nature reserve with the number 1.173 designated by ordinance of the Stuttgart Regional Council of November 30, 1990 .
location
The nature reserve is located in the Filder natural area . It is located in the area of the state capital Stuttgart between Fasanenhof (district Möhringen ) and Steckfeld (district Plieningen ) and is part of FFH area No. 7321-341 Filder . In addition to the Weidach and Zettach forest, the area includes a section of the Körsch valley and two orchards. The Weidach forest is located in the nature reserve . The protected forest with the protected area number 200084 has a size of 12.2 hectares and was designated by ordinance of the Tübingen Forest Directorate of February 12, 2002.
Protection purpose
According to the ordinance, the protection purpose is the safeguarding and maintenance of an ecologically and biologically valuable multi-faceted mosaic of habitats for a large number of, in some cases rare, species of plants and animals in need of protection, as well as a scenic, outstanding part of the cultural landscape.
Flora and fauna
In the sparse deciduous forests of the area and on the banks of hemming Körsch of specially protected thrives squill . The broad-leaved stendola orchid species also occurs . From the animal world, the species swamp shrew , water shrew and great noctule bat must be emphasized.
