The first three seasons were filmed on an old factory floor in Clayton , Victoria . Due to the storyline and the fire associated with it, production relocated to Newport , Victoria for season 4 .
action
Bea Smith is in custody for attempted manslaughter of her husband and is awaiting trial. There she learns very quickly that you have to fight for survival in a prison.
She has to decide: Will she join the experienced and unscrupulous Jacs Holt, who has served her sentence for seven years and has already proven herself as a "top dog" several times, or does she stick to her block mate Franky, a cunning and calculating woman who is incarcerated for throwing boiling oil on the face of a TV chef. Franky also has the women in prison under control, wants to bind them to her through her drug smuggling and to remain "Top Dog". However, this attempt fails and is punished by the director Meg Jackson with solitary confinement. During a later inmate uprising, Meg Jackson is stabbed to death. As it turns out in the course of the series, Vera Bennett started the uprising after she asked Jacs Holt for help to prove her skills. Meg Jackson was stabbed to death by Franky and not, as suspected, Jacs.
