Werner Peterich

Werner Peterich (born February 10, 1929 in Hamburg ) is a German translator .

Life

Werner Peterich studied language and literature at universities in Hamburg , Genoa , Evanston (Illinois) and Munich . He then worked as a publishing editor. He has also been translating narrative literature and non-fiction from English , French and Italian into German since the 1950s .

Peterich is a member of the PEN Center Germany and the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ. He lives in Reppenstedt in Lower Saxony .
