The Wilde ( also called Wölfte in the upper reaches ) is a 17.1 kilometer long, southwest and orographically right tributary of the Eder , which runs in the urban area of Bad Wildungen in the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg , northern Hesse ( Germany ).

course

The Wölfte rises in the wooded mountains of the Kellerwald at a height of about 500  m on the western flank of the Wölftekopf ( 567.1  m above sea  level ), which is located west of Hundsdorf , a district of Bad Wildungen. From its source it runs through the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park in a north-easterly direction and a little north past Hundsdorf. The Urff rises about 600 m to the south , which initially flows parallel to the Wölfte and turns southeast from Hundsdorf.

North-east of Hundsdorf the Wölfte changes its course to the north and flows in the Eschelgrund into the district Albertshausen . From the confluence of the small Sillbach coming from the west , it is also called Wilde. To the south of the village of Albertshausen, the Wölfte / Wilde forms the border with Reinhardshausen and flows through this district as a Mühlengraben. In the further course it flows around the Homberg ( 518  m ) on its west, northwest and north flanks in a north-easterly direction. Then it flows eastwards to the Reitzenhagen district , where it flows out of the basement forest and at the same time flows into the mostly unwooded urbanization area of Wildung. Then it squeezes between old wilderness in the northeast and the core town of Bad Wildungen in the southwest and, after crossing under the B 485 to the north, reaches the eastern Wildung district of Wega .

The confluence of the Wilde into the Eder is located immediately north of Wega at Eder kilometer 35.3, almost 9 kilometers below the Affolderner See . Opposite the Wilde confluence, which is about 180  m above sea level, is Wellen .
