Wilhelm Alexander von Salisch (born November 19, 1802 in Kochern, Ohlau district , † July 21, 1876 in Breslau ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

He was the son of the Prussian captain a. D. and Herr auf Kochern and Woislawitz Karl Moritz von Salisch (1746–1816) and his wife Ernestine Beate Friederike, née von Gellhorn (1762–1803).

Military career

Salisch graduated from the cadet house in Berlin on December 3, 1814 and was transferred to the 3rd Uhlan Regiment (Brandenburgisches) of the Prussian Army on October 3, 1819 as a second lieutenant . There he was promoted to Rittmeister until September 28, 1847 and on March 21, 1848 he was transferred to the 3rd Cuirassier Regiment in Königsberg as squadron chief . On December 16, 1851 he was transferred to Insterburg in the 1st Dragoon Regiment and on November 9, 1852 he was promoted to major . As such, Salisch was appointed commander of the 11th Hussar Regiment in Düsseldorf on June 10, 1856 . In this capacity on October 15, 1856 promoted to lieutenant colonel, Salisch acted from April 4, 1857 to January 1, 1859 as commander of the Guard Dragoons Regiment . In position à la suite of his regiment, he was then appointed commander of Kolberg . After his promotion to colonel, he was employed as commander of the 9th Cavalry Brigade in Glogau on June 23, 1859 . On October 18, 1861, Salisch was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, Second Class with Oak Leaves, for his achievements . Under awarding of the character as a major general he was placed on 13 January 1863 with the statutory board for disposition .

family

Salisch married on July 12, 1831 in Halberstadt with Johanna Wilhelmine Friederike Grone (1813-1836). After her death, he married Wilhelmine Auguste Leue (1813-1865) in Salzwedel on November 12, 1837 .
