Wilhelm Jung (politician)

Wilhelm Jung (born March 26, 1928 in Lörrach ; † October 24, 2015 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After attending elementary school and high school, Jung completed an apprenticeship as a baker, which he completed in 1946 with the journeyman's examination. He then worked as a journeyman baker, passed the master craftsman examination in 1952 and later worked as an independent master baker. From 1965 to 1974 he was head master of the bakers' guild in Lörrach. In addition, he acted as a district master craftsman and deputy guild master of the Baden state guild.

As a master baker, he was vice-president from 1971 to 1974 and president of the Freiburg Chamber of Crafts from 1974 to 1995 . During his presidency, the commercial academies in Freiburg-Landwasser , Schopfheim , Lahr and Offenburg were set up for the inter-company training of apprentices and for professional development. During his term of office, the academy for the study of business administration in the craft and the environmental center in Freiburg were founded. He also cultivated the jumelage / partnership with the Chambre de métiers in Besançon . Jung was also chairman of the board of the Federal Association of Guild Health Insurance Funds for many years .

Jung joined the CDU in 1962 and was a city councilor in Lörrach until 1984. From 1964 to 1980 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg and from 1974 to 1980 deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

He was then a member of the German Bundestag from 1980 to 1990 . In the federal elections in 1980 , 1983 and 1987 he was directly elected in the constituency of Lörrach - Müllheim . In parliament he was consistently a member of the finance committee.
