Wilhelm Joachim Friedrich von Hake (born December 10, 1785 in Genshagen ; † January 7, 1866 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a Prussian major general and by descent also inherited from the Kurmark Brandenburg .

Life

origin

He was a member of the Brandenburg noble family von Hake . His parents were Wilhelm Joachim Friedrich von Hake (* December 10, 1746; † July 2, 1819) and his wife Wilhelmine Friedrike, born von der Groeben (* October 15, 1760; † November 18, 1801). His father was a captain a. D. in the infantry regiment "von Kunheim" as well as hereditary lord on Genshagen, Dahmsdorf and Glasow.

Military career

Hake first came as a personal page to Prince Heinrich of Prussia and on June 3, 1799 became a corporal in the infantry regiment "von Winning" of the Prussian army . There he was promoted to secondary lieutenant until July 1804 , took part in the Battle of Auerstedt during the Fourth Coalition War and was captured while retreating near Prenzlau. After his release, Hake was made inactive.

On November 1, 1811, he came to the Leib-Infanterie-Regiment (No. 8) as a Krümperoffzier and was transferred to the gendarmerie as a district officer on October 1, 1812. In the run-up to the Wars of Liberation , he was transferred to the 1st West Prussian Landwehr Infantry Regiment on June 4, 1813 as a captain and company commander . During the war, Hake received the Iron Cross 2nd class for the battle near Dahme . He fought in the siege of Torgau, the blockade of Magdeburg and the battle near Luckau . In 1815 he made the march to France.

On April 30, 1816, Hake was transferred to the Königsberg Guard Landwehr Battalion. On August 5, 1818 he became major and commander of the 1st battalion in the 2nd Frankfurter Landwehr Regiment. On March 11, 1820 he became commander of the III. Battalions in the 19th Landwehr Regiment. In 1825 he received the service cross on his 25th anniversary. On July 4, 1832, Hake was commander of the III. Battalions in the 8th Landwehr Regiment in Wriezen. On March 30, he became battalion commander in the 12th Infantry Regiment . On March 30, 1837 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel with patent from April 1, 1837 and on August 30, 1841 to colonel with patent from August 22, 1841. On March 29, 1842, he was put up for disposal with a pension . On January 21, 1844, Hake received the Order of the Red Eagle, IV class. On February 17, 1852, he was retired, with permission to continue wearing his awards, and on February 20, 1852 he was appointed major general. On October 18, 1861 he also received the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class with a bow and died on January 7, 1866 in Frankfurt an der Oder.

Hake married Dorothea Julia Friederike Ruhler on January 24, 1813 in Berlin (* January 10, 1782 - † December 25, 1862). The couple had the following children:
