Wilhelm Graf zu Solms-Laubach (born August 15, 1861 in Jannowitz , † May 25, 1936 in Gießen ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Wilhelm zu Solms-Laubach comes from the noble family Solms-Laubach . He was the middle son of the landlord Friedrich Graf zu Solms-Laubach (1833-1900) and his wife Marianne nee Countess zu Stolberg-Wernigerode (1836-1910). Solms-Laubach, who was a Protestant denomination, married Countess zu Stolberg-Wernigerode (1872–1950), the daughter of Prince Otto zu Stolberg-Wernigerode and his wife Anna, Princess Reuss of the younger line , on May 23, 1902 in Wernigerode .

Wilhelm zu Solms-Laubach initially received private lessons and from 1874 attended the Laubach grammar school, where he passed the Abitur at Easter 1880. Then he studied law and political science at the Universities of Leipzig and Lausanne .

From 1881 he did four years of voluntary military service with the Prussian 1st Westphalian Hussar Regiment No. 8 in Neuhaus, Paderborn , Potsdam and Hanover . In the fall of 1882 he became a second lieutenant, lastly he was captain.

From November 10, 1894 he studied law and camera studies again in Munich and in 1886 passed the first state examination in law in Kassel (“sufficient”). Then he was a trainee lawyer at the Neukirchen District Court. From February 1899 he worked as a government trainee with the Kassel government and various district offices. On September 27, 1902, he passed the Great State Examination in Berlin (“sufficient”).

From November 4, 1902 he was a government assessor in the district office in the Hanover district . On March 23, 1904, he was appointed provisional district administrator and on December 16, 1904, he became district administrator in the Schlüchtern district . At his own request (for family reasons, because of the administration of the property for his underage nephew Georg Friedrich Graf zu Solms-Laubach) he was released from civil service on April 1, 1906.

1906–1918 he was the executive guardian of his underage nephew Georg Friedrich Graf zu Solms-Laubach (1899–1969) member of the First Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .
