It belonged like the other parts of Eselsberg long before 1871 the parish Klitten .

Wilhelmsfeld was the seat of a manor of the same name , with its own jurisdiction until 1849. Most of the estate was in non-noble ownership. In 1830 it belonged to a Mr. Zimmermann, then to W. Burchard, at whose request the renaming of the property from “Eselsberg” to “Wilhelmsfeld” was approved in 1843. In 1937 the mansion was taken over by the Silesian Fur Farm. Today there are apartments, a registry office and the local council in the former manor house .

At the time of its first mention, Wilhelmsfeld was in the Rothenburg district, Liegnitz district . On January 1, 1929, the place was incorporated into Kringelsdorf . On January 16, 1947, the district seat was relocated and from then on the district was called Landkreis Niesky . For the GDR district reform of July 25, 1952, the Kringelsdorf community with the Wilhelmsfeld district was assigned to the newly formed Weisswasser district . After the turn of the village belonged initially continue to nunmehrigen County White Water , and came to the district reform in Saxony on 1 August 1994 for Niederschlesischer Oberlausitzkreis .
