Within Destruction is a deathcore / slam death metal band from Jesenice , Slovenia, founded in 2010 .

history

Within Destruction was founded in 2010 in the Slovenian city ​​of Jesenice . After several line-up changes, it consists of singer Rok Rupnik, the two guitarists Matjaz Muhic and Damir Frlan, as well as bassist Janez Skumavc and drummer Luka Vezzosi.

In 2012 the band signed a record deal with the Austrian independent label Noisehead Records and released their debut album From the Dephts through the record company. In 2014 the band played at the Metaldays in Tolmin .

Almost four years later, the second album, Void, was released, which was brought onto the market via the German label Rising Nemesis Records . During this period, the band completed a European tour as the opening act for Visceral Disgorge and Disentomb , which included Germany , Austria , the Czech Republic , France and the United Kingdom . The band also played a few concerts as the opening act for Suicide Silence , Belphegor and Benighted .

On March 30, 2018, Deathwish was released, the band's third full studio album, produced by Fit-for-an-Autopsy guitarist Will Putney . At the end of February 2018, the band started their second European tour, this time accompanied by Stillbirth and Walking Dead on Broadway and ending on March 25, 2018.

In mid-September 2018 it was announced that the band had signed a recording contract with the US music label Unique Leader Records and announced that they would reissue the album Deathwish with additional content , which was released in March . Between March 29 and May 4, 2019, the group played their first tour of the United States , supporting Lorna Shore and Enterprise Earth .

On June 1, 2020, the band announced their fourth studio album, Yōkai, for August 12 of the same year.

The music on the debut album From the Dephts is described as a mixture of "a lot of Death Metal with a bit of blackness and an audible portion of Deathcore ." The group was compared with bands like As You Drown and Whitechapel . According to Luka vom Stormbringer, the band is also looking towards Melodic Death Metal . He cites groups like Dissection , In Flames and The Black Dahlia Murder as musical references.

Within Destruction's music is described as brutal and aggressive, but also has melodic and groovy passages. In contrast to many other deathcore bands, Within Destruction only use a few breakdowns , which are described as hard and rough and which benefit the respective song. Connor Welsh names groups like Slaughter to Prevail , Oceano , Ingested , Sectioned and Vulvodynia as musical references.
