politics
Local councilor and local mayor
Wittstedt is represented at the local level by the local council from Bramstedt.
coat of arms
The design of the municipal coat of arms of Wittstedt comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Albert de Badrihaye , who designed around 80 coats of arms in the district of Cuxhaven.
Blazon : " Divided , above in blue eight golden six-pointed stars , arranged horizontally in two rows, below in red two crossed silver keys ." | |
Justification of the coat of arms: The stars indicate the eight oldest courtyards in the village, which have special names. The crossed keys are a reminder of centuries of belonging to the Archbishopric of Bremen . |
