history

The place was first mentioned in 860 together with a number of other places in the region between Ems and Elbe in a record of Archbishop Ansgar about miraculous healings at Willehad's grave . Rechtenfleth celebrated its 1150th anniversary with festive days from June 24th to 26th, 2011.

The village's best- known son is the poet Hermann Allmers (1821–1902), whose residence, the Marschenhof he has converted and furnished , has been preserved and used for cultural purposes.

Erpold Lindenbrog (approx. 1540–1616) also comes from Rechtenfleth. The paternal farm Lindenbrogs is the former Weiderhof, which today is the local restaurant. Lindenbrog established himself as a notary in Hamburg. There are also a number of historical publications by him.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1968, the previous political independence of Rechtenfleth ended because the place merged with other municipalities to form the new municipality of Sandstedt , which in turn became a member municipality of the integrated municipality of Hagen as part of the regional reform in Lower Saxony , which took place on March 1, 1974 .

On January 1, 2014, the joint community of Hagen and its member communities were dissolved and the new community of Hagen in Bremen was established.
